Environmental Evaluation & Permits.

It involves all the integral analysis and permisology associated with the environmental impact assessment procedure and related institutions for a work.

D1/D2: projects exceeding 500m2 of construction, soil movement and engineering works exceeding 200m3, or specific elements or activities that have special applicable laws and/or the environmental characteristics of the area have specific requirements to comply to by law, permitting must proceed with the D-2 or D1 form to opt for environmental viability by SETENA.

Environmental Impact Study: Analyzing a project proposal requires a technical and scientific evaluation to determine the possible environmental impacts in a development process. Avicennia builds the best suitable interdisciplinary team to tackle the different critical environmental issues that surround a development process to harmonize all stakeholders interests. A Environmental Impact Study is a collaborative effort that brings together different professional backgrounds to correct the negative impacts that an activity or project exerts on its natural surroundings as well as propose sustainable approaches to incorporate into the development proposal.

Environmental Compliance Inspections: depending on the magnitude and extent of a project, SETENA may require periodic environmental inspections, reports and onsite log tracking signed by an authorized environmental consultant.

Drilling and Well Registration: complete permitting process for subterranean water well drilling, as well as the obtaining environmental viability permit and formal state concession permits. The specific studies for water wells include pumping tests used to determine their optimum flows of extraction and efficiency, and to establish the hydraulic properties of an aquifer and the protection zones of the water wells according to the projected water demand.

Forestry Evaluation &Permits: Essential component in sustainable design and development . These evaluations are done to determine areas that are viable for construction in relationship de forest coverage as well as critical areas for conservation like biological corridors, to determine biological diversity and tree species composition, for the design of trails and biodiversity information inside natural forest areas, as well as permitting for MINAE in case elimination is necessary. Forestry evaluations are an excellent tool for architects and engineers for sustainable planning and design. These evaluations are complemented with GPS and Surveying positioning, detailed maps and vectorial versions for AutoCad.

Land Use Permits: Protection lands under MINAET jurisdiction are subject to concession under land use permits. All applications and procedures to comply with this approval process are offered.

Ministry of Health:

Waste Management Plans: Development and implementation of legally compliant plans and protocols for waste management throughout all types of commercial activities.

Emergency Plans: Development and implementation of legally compliant plans and protocols for emergency situations throughout all types of commercial activities.

Environmental Health and Safety Plans: Development and implementation of legally compliant plans and protocols in environmental health and safety throughout all types of commercial activities.

Detailed Hydrogeological Studies: The hydrogeologic studies are necessary for water well drilling solicitudes and for specific projects where a water pollution threat exists, such as, gas stations, storage tanks and factories. Hydrogeological studies are oriented for the estimation of the hydro-potential of an aquifer or of hydrographical basins through the hydro-balance method. Coastal aquifers salt intrusion can be measured as well.
